How to refine a design without starting over

Keep what works while steering color, furnishings, zoning, durability in focused turns.

Updated 2026-05-045 min read

When a suggestion or render feels close-but-not-quite, keep momentum by anchoring wins and narrowing the delta.

Anchor what stays

  • Keep the layout.
  • Keep the sofa palette but adjust textures.
  • Keep the brighter mood.
  • Keep storage intent but lighten visual bulk.

Name precise changes next

One or two sharp adjustments per message typically work better than a long combined wishlist.

Use directional language

  • Warmer
  • Cleaner
  • Less formal
  • More layered
  • More renter-safe
  • Kid-friendlier

Call out zones or furniture plainly

Say “wall behind the bed,” “window wall,” etc. Annotate visually in the editor when tools are available so Oona fixes the intended region.

If the model still ignores spelled-out locks (for example protecting layout), escalate with chat issue or render issue plus project context when signed in.
