Choose between guided onboarding and quick chat
Pick the right starting path so Oona gets context early without slowing you down.
Use this guide if you are unsure whether to pick Design together or Chat directly when starting a project, or if you started quickly and now want to add missing context.
Design together (recommended for most rooms)
Design together walks you through a short guided brief before the chat. It helps Oona understand your room, your taste, what must stay, and any hard limits so the first suggestions land closer to what you actually need.
- Pick this when you want room-level advice (layout, lighting, palette, key pieces).
- It is especially helpful when you have constraints (renter rules, pets, must-keep furniture).
- It tends to produce more specific first messages with fewer clarifying turns.
Chat directly (fast start)
Chat directly skips the guided brief and starts a conversation immediately. It is best for one-off questions or when you already know exactly what you want to ask.
- Pick this when you want a quick idea, not a full-room plan yet.
- You can still upload photos and add must-keeps and limits later in chat.
- If suggestions feel generic, it usually means Oona is missing key constraints or goals.
If you picked the wrong path
You can recover without restarting: add a room photo (if you have one), list what must stay, and state your top goal and any hard limits in your next message. That gives Oona most of what the guided brief would have collected.
