Protect parts of your room you want to keep
Tell Oona what must stay so changes focus on what actually needs improvement.
Updated 2026-05-073 min read
Use this guide when you want to make sure Oona does not change specific pieces, areas, or categories of your room.
Name what must stay
- “Keep the sofa. Do not suggest alternatives.”
- “This is a rental. Do not suggest painting, wallpaper, or drilling.”
- “The dining table stays. Work around it.”
- “Flooring cannot be changed.”
Hard limits vs strong preferences
If something is non-negotiable, say so plainly (“must stay”, “do not change”). If you are open to alternatives, say that too. Clear constraints reduce back-and-forth.
Repeat constraints when needed
If Oona suggests changing something you wanted to keep, restate the constraint at the top of your next message and continue with the request.
